Medical Gas Certifications, Inc. was created to revolutionize the ASSE 6000 series medical gas training and certification programs by providing the courses 100% online. The first online course developed for the Medical Gas Certification (MGC) website was the ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel Program launched in January 2011.
MGC now offers the ASSE 6005 Medical Gas Systems Generalist and the ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Systems Inspector certifications, along with renewals for any ASSE 6000 series certification. MGC’s programs were developed by Jonathan C. Willard, an ASSE 6050 & 6055 Certified Instructor and an MGPHO Credentialed Medical Gas Verifier (V-0135).
The ASSE 6000 Professional Qualification Standard for Medical Gas Systems Personnel requires that the individual certifications be issued and maintained by a Third Party Certification Agency, which is a separate entity from the “training provider.”
Medical Gas Certifications, Inc. is an approved training partner and the sole provider of the online training programs for the Medical Gas Training Institute (MGTI), which is a nationally and internationally recognized Third Party Certification Agency. MGTI is the premier medical gas personnel certifying agency and develops and maintains ALL of the ASSE 6000 certifications in accordance with the requirements of the ASSE 6000 Professional Qualification Standard for Medical Gas Systems Personnel and the ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024: General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification of Personnel Programs, which is the international standard for these organizations.
Meet the “qualification” requirements of
NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code.
These online training programs are provided by MGC and the ASSE 6000 certifications are issued by MGTI. These programs are in accordance with the ASSE 6000 Standard and meet the requirements of NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code and the NFPA 55: Compressed Gases and Cryogenic Fluids Code. The certifications are valid for three (3) years from issuance. Renewal of this certification can be accomplished by completing one of the approved recertification programs.
About the Instructor
These programs were developed by Mr. Jonathan C. Willard, who is an ASSE 6050 and 6055 Certified Instructor.
Jonathan C. Willard is the president and co-owner of Acute Medical Gas Services, which is a comprehensive medical gas and environmental testing services company with the vision to be a single-source, turnkey provider of these services. He has worked in the medical gas and health care construction industries for over 20 years. Prior to starting the company, he was the vice president of operations for a large mechanical contractor and also worked as a project manager on some of the most significant and complex healthcare projects in the Northeast. He holds numerous certifications and is one of only a handful of individuals that have earned all of the ASSE 6000 medical gas certifications. He is a principal member of the Technical Committee on Medical Gas and Vacuum Piping Systems (NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code) and a principal member of the Technical Committee on Industrial and Medical Gases (NFPA 55: Compressed Gases and Cryogenic Fluids Code). He holds a Credentialed Medical Gas Verifier (CMGV©) certification and has serves on the Medical Gas Professional Healthcare Organization (MGPHO) Board of Directors as the Vice President of Credentials. He is also a LEED AP© (Accredited Professional), a certified Project Management Professional (PMP©), a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC), and is Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD©) and has a Master of Science degree in Business Education (MBE). He has published many articles on the subject of medical gases and has presented on compliance, emergency operations management, program development, and risk assessments to many of the healthcare engineering societies, trade groups, and other interested organizations.
