The ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Systems Inspector certification is intended for personnel looking to get involved in the inspection of medical gas systems and the installation of these systems at healthcare facilities. Along with general knowledge about medical gas and vacuum systems installation and testing, this certification covers the code requirements within the scope of NFPA 99, NFPA 55 and other applicable codes, laws, and standards. The certification is a twenty-four (24) hour training course.
Please take your time and follow along with your copy of NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code, which is a required resource for this training program. It is in your best interest to get oriented with NFPA 99, as it will be your primary reference when working with medical gas and vacuum systems at healthcare facilities. The codebook is available from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Candidates must view all of the modules in the program in order AND entirety to be eligible for a certificate of completion. The 24-hour training requires completing the training modules, self-study, and completion of the practice quizzes. Before you are able to print a certificate of completion, ALL lessons must show a complete status.
There will be several slides you are asked to “take your time and review” as there is additional content other than the audio. Each of these slides will play for 5-10 seconds. If you need more time to review the content, please pause the video and resume when ready. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you highlight each paragraph in your copy of NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code. By doing so, it will provide additional study material on your own time.
